August 2011 - How Time Flies

This is the first time I have written anything in here in almost a year. Time flies when you're having fun!

You could say fun, but a lot of "not so fun" things have happened in this year also. I'm currently waiting on a pot-noodle like thing cooking up, so while I wait I might as well update this wee thing seeing as my attention was brought to it earlier. I'll mix it up a little though.

I started college and performed the musical Chess with my classmates which was incredible. I went to London with the college and seen 'Shrek the Musical' before it was even released, and 'Betty Blue Eyes', which I slept through most of. I also went to this wee venue in the East end and watched a play called 'Uncle Vanya', that was intense to say the least....although it was done amazingly and I actually felt like a fly on the wall in some family home. I performed 'Little Shop of Horrors', and was lucky to be cast as the lead role, Audrey. That show in itself was an emotional journey as I finally recieved the chance to see what being an actress is really like....tough! But I got by and believe that as a whole, we put on a good show. I got back with an ex who yet again became an ex (we're still good friends though). I stayed in touch with a single friend from high-school who I see every now and again. I encouraged my best friend Angela to apply for Coatbridge College, which she did and I now look forward to spending the year with her at college. I went to few parties, although each and every one of them I became legless and enjoyed myself as much as one can enjoy ones self. I mourned over not being able to go out and party legally yet, as I would really like to go out a night in the town and see what real fun is. I made some really good friends at college whom I'd like to think I'll stay in touch with for a while after I finish. I also made some good and proper enemies at college, particularly with a certain lecturer. You know what they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer........he can get to f***. I took my first shot of alcohol and believe me, there will be many more to come. I covered a male friends boxers in chocolate eclair, and these were his underwear for the next day too! I left home and now stay with my aunt. I got kept on as a permanent member of staff at Lush (which is becoming more of a job than anything now). I completed my first year at college and passed every exam with only one re-sit all in. I cried a lot over useless things. I realised that getting on the West-End is not the be all and end all of everything. I played a lot of the Sims 3 and started many a new game. I picked up crocheting for the first time in 7 years and have successfully completed a wee winter hat. I got through to the next level of a "major" talent contest in the UK, which I've decided to not go through with as it's a money making sham................

All in all... It's been a busy and eventful year. I now look forward to starting my second year at college where I will complete my HND in Musical Theatre and hopefully find myself a place in another school to do my degree next year. I also look forward to a year of eyeing up boys and making no attachments to anything other than college and work. I must say though, reading over that last paragraph I realsie that I've become fairly cynical. I don't think that's a bad thing right?
